UC Davis Teaching and Learning Classroom Building

Davis, California

The Teaching & Learning Complex (TLC) will be the central campus hub for student study and gathering. It will provide approximately 2,000 seats in a variety of classrooms of both flexible and traditional orientations. The building will be a laboratory of ideas about teaching & learning. It should flexibly incorporate changing pedagogies and technologies over time in order to support desired learning outcomes. The work will include independent and group study areas for students and site improvements that will enhance the campus core with the development of student gathering spaces and landscaping. The new facility will be an exemplar of the merger of “net zero ready” design and occupant comfort in alignment with the UC Carbon Neutrality Initiative and will be certified LEED v4 Silver or better.
