UCSC Hagar Early Education Center

Santa Cruz, CA

The Hagar Development includes 140 units of housing for students with families, an early education center, a community and maintenance building, and a wastewater treatment plant. Occupying the meadow that acts at the gateway to UC Santa Cruz campus, this project sets a tone for the housing community that feels in keeping with the agrarian setting, while fostering a vibrant community that feels a true home for its inhabitants. Our team is updating an earlier design to be responsive to the meadow context and more resilient in its approach to planning for the future.
